Cookbook Essentials

I’m back with another vlog today.  And a promise that someday (soon!) the vlogs will be less than 10 minutes.

Fun fact:  My husband thought my first 10 minute vlog was way too long to watch.  Sous Chef Lauren watched every minute.  So in case you were wondering who I like more….

Cookbooks:

The much beloved, and out of print, Williams Sonoma Kitchen Companion

Mark Bittman’s How to Cook Everything, and the Vegetarian edition

The Barefoot Contessa Cookbook, The Barefoot Contessa At Home, and my love letter to Ina, here.

Dorie Greenspan’s Baking, From My Home to Yours

And In the Small Kitchen, from Cara Eisenpress, who blogs here, and Phoebe Lapine, who blogs here

  1. LOVE LOVE LOVE the cookbook your grandma gave you! This is so sweet. Love the family aspect, the handwritten-ness of it, etc. Have you ever tried “Looney Spoons” or “Crazy Plates” by Janet and Greta Podleski? HIGHLY recommend. My husband actually loves to make recipes from these. And check out janetandgreta.com for more information. They have done their homework and come up with some great recipes that appeal to all ages!
