Here we are, dear readers, at A Glass of Milk’s 500th post.
I made this beautiful cake.
I iced it just like I learned in cake class.
If you ask me, I did a darn good job.
The crumbs didn’t flake off and into the frosting the way they usually do.
I got the cake safely to Grandma Glass of Milk’s.
But I didn’t love the cake.
500 posts, and I still don’t have a tried and true recipe for vanilla layer cake.
The frosting, however, is to die for, and would work on any cake, big or small.
Congrats on your 500th post! I just celebrated my 10th post today, so I definitely admire all of your work. 🙂
The cake looks great, by the way…one day you’ll find the right recipe.
thanks Erin!
You have a VERY lucky grandma! This looks DELICIOUS!!!
Well, it LOOKS pretty! And delicious!
dearest little one, i made your strawberry rhubarb crumble this weekend. i just finished another serving while typing this!
“The frosting, however, is to die for, and would work on any cake, big or small.”
No joke! Thanks for sharing with me (and the mister, who is convinced it was sent home for him and lucky I shared one of my three slices).
xo
and maybe i ate the frosting off the leftovers and threw away the cake. maybe. who knows?
